11 million is the office of the Children’s Commissioner for England. The Children’s Commissioner must make sure that the views of children and young people are asked for, listened to and acted on. The Children’s Commissioner wants the rights of all children and young people to be respected.
Amnesty International
Amnesty International is a worldwide campaign to promote all the human rights in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international agreements.
British Institute of Human Rights (BIHR)
The BIHR works to raise awareness of human rights in the UK. It runs a ‘Human Rights in Schools’ project to help students understand human rights, to help teachers teach human rights, and to help schools to develop a rights culture.
Children’s Rights Alliance for England (CRAE)
CRAE is a group of over 380 organisations in England that work to get the Convention on the Rights of the Child put into practice. CRAE checks Government action on children’s human rights and every year publishes a ‘State of children’s rights’ report. CRAE sends reports to the United Nations, the Council of Europe and other important organisations working on human rights. CRAE also works with Government and Parliament to encourage them to make laws and policies that respect children’s rights.
Liberty
Liberty works to defend and extend rights and freedoms in England and Wales. Liberty runs a campaign called ‘Reality Check’ that challenges how young people are shown in the media and by politicians.
UNICEF UK Youth Voice
This is a network for young people in the UK who are committed to children’s rights. You’ll find opportunities to campaign and lobby the Government, raise money for UNICEF’s work and speak out for children worldwide.
